Christian-louboutin-new-light-yellow-pumps

I was in a meeting when a troublemaking friend started texting me pictures of the shoes. I’d walked past one too many times in a Paris window – the perfect pair of christian-louboutin-new-light-yellow-pumps.

So distracting. Resistance was futile. (What I really need are rugged hiking boots for my dream Botswana safari trip in a week or two, but I’m sure the faithful Brasher’s that got me up Kilimanjaro can double up, or so I told myself as I did my sums).

Christian Louboutin New light yellow pumps

My little sister convinced I bought them for her fairy-tale dressing-up box, and is stilt-wobbling round the kitchen in them when my back’s turned.

I’m telling myself they’re surprisingly practical as I bike to summer birthdays in polka-dots and a straw boater. It turns out glitter is shockingly versatile, even if my boyfriend doesn’t appreciate the trail of fairy dust lightly coating our kitchen.

I won’t take them to Africa, but come September I’ll be wearing them with grey tights and much more sensible skirts.

And in the meantime, I’ll appease my little sister with spray paint and sequins and attack her favourite Converse.

Christian Louboutin Glass Slipper for Le Rituel Box Set

Luxury – such a great word with so many ramifications, that almost every domain, if not all, has dedicated all the necessary efforts to develop at least a luxury product for the market.

Luxury cars, luxury jewelry, luxury hi-tech equipments, luxurious houses, haute couture and fine, delicate wines – luxury has become a must-have attitude.

One of the most prestigious luxurious collaboration is right here: Piper Heidsieck has teamed up with shoe-god Christian Louboutin to create “Le Rituel” (the ritual).

Collaborations seem almost a trend that every respectable designer must have in their resume, and Louboutin is the perfect example and model, showing that everything is possible with a little bit of imagination and the right attitude.

For his project with champagne makers Piper Heidsieck, Christian Louboutin has came up with a box set, containing, of course, as expected, a glass of champagne and a glass shoe – with Louboutin’s signature on it – the red sole.

Here’s what christian louboutins once said about his red sole: “In 1992 I incorporated the red sole into the design of my shoes. This happened by accident as I felt that the shoes lacked energy so I applied red nail polish to the sole of a shoe. This was such a success that it became a permanent fixture.”

This limited edition gift set is a very privileged moment in the fashion industry, as two titans in luxury fashion and wines get together.

The origin of this collaboration comes from an old legend, which stipulated that back in the 1880, there was a certain society that had the weird “social decadent high-society stamp” of drinking out of women’s shoes.

Repeating history, “Le Rituel” box set promises to be a sure collector’s item.

Shoe Trends: Summer 2011

As the main fashion trends start to unravel, we are getting a fairly good grasp of the season’s hottest looks.

However, no fashion trend analysis is complete without analyzing the accessories trends as well.Learn more about the most important shoe trends for the summer 2011 season, in order to look your best every single time.

Designer shoes are every fashionista’s weakness. The latest collections for the summer season are the perfect source of inspiration for those who wish to expand their existing shoe collection with fresh new runway-inspired shoes.

With the multitude of fashion collections available, keeping tabs on some of the hottest shoe designs can be quite a challenge. However,an overview of some of the main shoe styles can be extremely helpful.

Among the shoe styles that have made a huge comeback, platform sandals are perhaps the ones that are worth mentioning the most. Feminine and elegant or futuristic and bold, plaforms were part of many shoe collections from brands such as: Blu Girl, Dolce&Gabbana, YSL, Versus, Custo Barcelona,Angelo Marani or Marc Jacobs. Available in soft, nude tones, girly hues or bold and vibrant color combos, platforms are literally everywhere this season.

If selecting the perfectly trendy pair of platforms is your goal, don’t settle with any conventional style. Strappy sandals are the buzzword this season, as the Christian Dior, Diane von Furstenberg, Alexander Wang, Moschino and Erdem labels clearly prove. Shoe laces are creatively used as straps in some of these collections to add creativity and originality to the designs.

Sprign Summer 2011 Shoe Trends
Yves Saint Laurent Collection
Printed shoes are another hot trend of the season. From head turning abstract prints to feminine florals and sassy animal prints or exotic leather touches, the alternatives are more than generous.

Diversified, colorful and instant focal points, printed shoes are more than suitable for simple, modest outfits. Spicing things up fashion-wise has never been easier than now, thanks to the lust worthy shoe designs this season offers.

Another interesting style trend, endorsed by various fashion designers is a shoe style that is essentially a mixture between flat shoes and wedges.

If the idea seems appealing collections from brands such as Michael Kors, Phillip Lim or Band of Outsiders will definitely spark your interest. Whether you love them or hate them, flatforms are the most notable shoe style of the summer 2011 season in terms of originality.

Wedges are another hot shoe style of the season. Combining elegance and comfort perfectly, wedges are a wonderful alternative to pumps with killer heels.

You’ll find plenty of wonderful style choices if you take a closer look at collections from brands like Altuzarra, Lanvin, D&G , Vivienne Westwood, Jonathan Saunders or Sonia Rykiel.

If comfort is your top priority you should undoubtedly direct your attention towards the classy, simple yet fabulous flats trends.

Ballet flats continue to be a popular style. Oscar de la Renta and Chole are two of the brands that chose to perpetuate this trend. On the other hand, if flat sandals match your style a little more collections like Alberto Guardiani, Donna Karan, Proenza Schouler or Giambattista Valli might be a better match for you.

Even though you might usually dismiss the idea of wearing boots during summer, a few cute shoe styles such as the ones from Manolo Blahnik or D&G might persuade you to reconsider your decision.

These boots can be the perfect originality touch you’ve been looking for to perk up your outfits.

Keep an open mind and experiment with with various shoe styles this season to be able to attract positive compliments every single time.

Fight for the right for RED!

We all LOVE our red soles, and what’s not to love it’s christian louboutins trademark, right?
I recently read an article on Louboutins signature red sole being copied by other fashion houses. It began in April with Carmen Steffens who came out with a style flaunting a red sole (see below) and the lawsuit ensued.

The Carmen Steffens fashion house claims that they have had multiple colors of soles throughout the years and red was only one of them.

In May a lawsuit against Yves Saint Laurent Collection claims that they also copied his signature red soles and YSL fought back that they indeed have used a crimson sole in the past and that red soles date back to the 1600′s when King Louis XIV ruled.

Christian Louboutin recently found out that Dior has similar plans.

A private investigator hired by Louboutin, stumbled upon Dior’s alleged plans when a sales clerk at the latter’s 57th Street store in NYC dished that the brand was “planning to make red-soled shoes with matching uppers for the next season.”
Not on Louboutin’s watch!
Louboutin is hoping that the courts will prevent copycats from adopting crimson heels, claiming it violates his trademark.
What are your thoughts???
